After School Activities Program (A.S.A.P)
After School Activities are offered to students from 3:00-4:00 PM Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Philosophy and Objectives for After School Activities
The After School activity program at ELM should provide a variety of experiences for students and give them the opportunity to excel in areas outside of the classroom.
The following objectives should be implemented when planning and considering an activity.
- Activities must include instructional components.
- There should be interaction between the sponsor and the students during the activity.
- Sponsors should create an environment that optimizes socialization and teamwork.
- Responsibility and commitment to the activity should be emphasized.
- Activities are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Note: Activities will not be held on Wednesday. This is reserved for Teacher Meetings.
- The after school activity program is held quarterly. Sponsors may wish to continue or create a new activity per quarter.

For this quarter I have planned to work in different projects as a paper flowers, card making, stamps, painting and more.
I will let you know the materials to be needed.
My idea is to work imagination on each student, giving them the idea of what we have to do, but at the same time letting them work with their own creation or view of how can we make it better or different.

Girls Only!
This probably is one of my favorite dance styles since I’ve been a dance teacher for couple of years for adults and children. Most of the girls like this music, and it’s easy to learn Belly dance at a young age. It will be a nice idea to let the moms be part of this activity sometimes.
This activity will focus on drill and practice of basic math facts on Tuesdays. We will also be exploring ways to make these basic facts easier to remember. This class is available to Intermediate and Upper School students who will appreciate extra math support.
Grades 5th to 11th
Interested in learning the basics of Spanish? Do you want to feel more comfortable living in a Spanish speaking country? Adult learners will meet every Tuesday in the ELM library and resource center.
