Escuela Las Morochas in  Cuidad Ojeda, Venezuela is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Taizu Wold as Director General, effective August 1, 2010.

After twelve years of teaching and coaching upper school students, including three years as ELM’s Upper School Coordinator, Taizu is delighted to have this opportunity to take her passion for excellence in education to a new level.  Ms. Wold received her BA from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, her teaching certification from Oakland University in Michigan, and her Masters in Spanish from Central Michigan University (with academic honors from all three institutions.)

Born in West Africa, Taizu and her sister Sieneh (ELM’s Early Childhood Education Coordinator) are themselves the product of several International schools, including FDR in Lima,  Peru, which serves as their alma-matter.  After spending two decades living and working in the States, the Wold sisters are pleased to return to their nomadic lifestyle, and International School  roots.

Please note: at Escuela Las Morochas, we follow an “open communication model.” We do this with monthly coffee with the Director, monthly parent drop-in’s, parent meetings by request, and student led conferences.
